Helical Roof Fixings

This range has been developed specifically for use when fixing counterbattens over Kingspan or equivalent rigid insulation panels, meaning that the risk of splitting the counterbatten is removed - which has always been a problem with traditional fixings such as woodscrews or nails.
Manufactured from grade 304 Stainless Steel, Warm Roof Fixings are corrosion resistant and will not deteriorate in moist conditions which may occur due to condensation.

The number of fixings required per square metre is dependent on several factors as below:
- Counterbatten Thickness - this must be a minimum of 25mm.
- Insulation Thickness - The thickness of the insulation above the rafters that is to be fixed through - some insulation is rebated or between the rafters.
- Additional Material Thickness - Sometimes other materials such as ply or plasterboard are placed between the insulation and the rafters.
- Counterbatten centres - This is the counterbatten spacing and is usually the same as the rafter centres.
- Roof Pitch - This is needed in order to calculate the sliding load. This figure can be rounded up or down to the nearest 10°.
- What sort of tiles/slates are to be used - This is needed also to calculate the sliding load. It is preferable to obtain the laid weight in Kg/m2.
- Wind exposure - Which county is the site located in? Would you consider the wind exposure factor to be high, medium or low? Is the building height over 15 metres?
- Total area of the roof - This is needed to calculate the total number of fixings required. N.B. For Warm Roof Fixings of lengths 125mm and above a support tool is       required to make driving easier and avoid bending.

For higher volume installations a Power Driving Tool for use in a SDS rotary hammer with rotation stop is recommended for time and money saving
