Kernow Raises Money for Cornwall Air Ambulance

Kernow Fixings Charity Bake-Off

Continuing their 30th anniversary celebrations, the Kernow Team commemorated the occasion with a fundraising bake-off in aid of local charity, Cornwall Air Ambulance. With true Kernow team spirit, 28 employees went to the effort of baking and decorating their birthday cake masterpieces.

With themes from sheds and seagulls, nuts and channel to support feet and Kernow logos, the team showed fantastic creativity. There were all types of cakes from Victoria sponges and lemon cakes to black forest gateaux and even a cookies and cream cake. The variety and effort was outstanding. Would you expect any less from the team at Kernow?!

Stephan Segar (Warehouse & Logistics Manager) was presented with the “I’ve got the Bake-Off Kernow-How” apron, winning with his rather large version of the original shed where it all began for Kernow Fixings back in 1989.

All staff donated to take part in the day, opting to dress down and sampling all the cakes. There were games to encourage more cash donations and many of our suppliers also donated generously. A very special thanks to Alpen UK, Sovereign, DS Smith, Pumphouse, Toolbank, Brian Hyde, BEA Fasteners, Sikla, Dart Group, Armorgard, Pemsa, Status Credit Insurance, Nigel Harper, OGL, HCC, TimCo, NCM and Armorgduct.

You all helped us raise a staggering £2,082 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance!

With so much cake we were also able to support STAK, St Austell Community Kitchen for the Vulnerable and Needy.

A fun and memorable way to mark Kernow’s 30th Anniversary. To read more about the company’s journey see From Fish to Fixings
