It is the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure that the correct fixing is obtained and installed as per the specification, but how can you guarantee that the correct fixings are obtained on all re-orders throughout the project, and not just on the original order? 

With hundreds of variations of fixings available from many different manufacturers, ensuring the correctly specified product is supplied every time can be very difficult, often impossible once the original packaging has been discarded! 

Using a non-specified fixing poses a significant risk and is one of the leading causes of fixing failure. Fortunately, this is easily preventable.
